TiviMate Premium Setup & ConfigurationEPG, 7-day catch-up TV, recording, and multi-playlist on Android TV & Firestick
TiviMate Premium is the gold standard IPTV player for Android TV. If Smarters Pro is the everyday Toyota Camry — reliable, free, gets you there — TiviMate is the BMW: faster EPG, polished catch-up TV, multi-playlist profiles, and the kind of UX details that genuinely change how often you actually use your IPTV subscription. The trade-off is that TiviMate is Android-only (no iOS, no Samsung Tizen, no LG webOS) and the Premium tier costs $20/year — which we include free on our 6+ month plans.
This guide walks through the complete TiviMate Premium setup: installation on Android TV and Firestick, the Xtream Codes login, the three settings that unlock the EPG and catch-up features most users miss, and the multi-playlist trick for households with kids' profiles. By the end, your TiviMate will be configured the way US power users actually run it.
Why TiviMate Beats Everything Else (on Android)
- Best EPG grid in the business. 6 channels visible at once, fast scroll, programme images. No competitor on Android TV is close.
- 7-day catch-up TV. Rewind any live channel up to 7 days. Missed last Sunday's football game? Just scroll back.
- DVR-style recording to USB. Schedule recordings of live broadcasts. Save them indefinitely.
- Multi-playlist profiles. Kids' profile sees only family channels; adult profile sees everything. Switch with two clicks.
- Picture-in-picture. Watch one channel while browsing the EPG for what to watch next. Native, smooth.
Premium licence is $20/year direct from TiviMate, or included FREE with our 6+ month plans (we send the activation code with your credentials).
Where TiviMate Works (and Where It Doesn't)
✓ Works perfectly
- • Firestick (4K, 4K Max, Cube)
- • Android TV (Sony Bravia, Xiaomi Mi TV, TCL Google TV, Hisense)
- • NVIDIA Shield TV
- • Android phones & tablets
- • Chromecast with Google TV
✗ Doesn't work
- • Apple TV / iPhone / iPad (no iOS app)
- • Samsung Tizen Smart TVs
- • LG webOS Smart TVs
- • Roku TVs / Roku sticks
- • Windows / Mac (no desktop version)
For these platforms, see our Smarters Pro guide.
Installation
On Android TV (Sony, Xiaomi, NVIDIA Shield, etc.)
- Open Google Play Store on your TV.
- Search "TiviMate IPTV Player".
- Install the free version. Launch it.
- Premium activation happens after first playlist is added (see below).
On Firestick (Sideload via Downloader)
Firestick uses Amazon's Fire OS, which only has the Amazon App Store — and Amazon doesn't carry TiviMate. You'll need to sideload via the Downloader app (the same standard process we cover in the Firestick guide).
- Enable "Apps from Unknown Sources" (Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options).
- Install the Downloader app from the Amazon App Store.
- Open Downloader, enter the TiviMate APK URL we send via WhatsApp.
- Install. Launch from your Firestick app drawer.
Initial Setup & Premium Activation
Add Your Playlist (Xtream Codes Login)
First-launch flow:
- • Add Playlist → Xtream Codes Login (NOT M3U URL).
- • Enter Username, Password, Server URL — sent via WhatsApp.
- • Wait 20–30 seconds for the channel list to sync.
Activate Premium
Once a playlist is loaded:
- • Settings → Premium.
- • Enter the activation code we sent for your account (6+ month plans only).
- • Premium features unlock immediately: catch-up, recording, multi-playlist, picture-in-picture.
On 1-month and 3-month plans, you can still use the free version of TiviMate — you just don't get the Premium features.
Configure the EPG (Programme Guide)
Default EPG behavior misses programme info if you don't tweak it:
- • Settings → EPG → Update Interval → set to Every 4 Hours (default is daily, which goes stale fast).
- • Force a manual EPG refresh now: Settings → EPG → Force EPG Update. Wait 30–60 seconds.
- • Set EPG Time Format to your local time zone (Eastern, Central, Pacific, etc.).
Enable Catch-Up TV (Premium)
The killer feature most users never enable:
- • Settings → Playback → enable Catch-Up.
- • Now in the EPG, programmes from up to 7 days ago show a "play" icon — tap and watch.
- • Useful for: catching last Sunday's football game, missed combat sports main event, recorded baseball.
Catch-up requires the channel itself to support it on the provider side. All major US sports networks on our infrastructure support 7-day catch-up.
Enable DVR Recording (Premium, Optional)
If your Firestick or Android TV has a USB port, you can record live broadcasts:
- • Plug a USB drive (32GB+) into the device.
- • Settings → Recordings → set the USB drive as recording storage.
- • In the EPG, long-press any future programme → "Schedule Recording".
Multi-Playlist Profiles (Premium)
One of TiviMate's underused features. You can run multiple playlists side-by-side and switch between them with two clicks. Common US household setups:
Kids' Profile
A second playlist with only kids' cartoons, family entertainment, and education channels. PIN-protected so they can't switch to the adult profile.
Sports-Only Profile
A playlist filtered to just sports networks — so during a Sunday football block you don't have to scroll past 200 channels to find the games.
International Profile
A separate playlist of Spanish, Arabic, Urdu, or other international channels — so the main grid stays English-only by default.
Common TiviMate Problems
EPG grid is empty
Your provider doesn't include EPG metadata in the M3U feed. Switch to Xtream Codes API login if you haven't (most likely fix). If still empty, the provider doesn't have EPG support — switch providers. Our infrastructure includes full XMLTV EPG by default.
Catch-up "Play" button doesn't appear on past programmes
Either (a) Catch-Up isn't enabled in Settings → Playback, or (b) your subscription tier doesn't include catch-up, or (c) the specific channel doesn't support catch-up at the provider level. Try a major US broadcast network (CBS, NBC) — those almost always have catch-up enabled.
Premium activation code says "Invalid"
Codes are case-sensitive. Triple-check capitalization. If still invalid after careful entry, message us — we'll re-send a fresh code instantly. Codes never expire on our 6+ month plans.
App crashes when scrolling EPG
Older Firestick models (Lite/HD) struggle with TiviMate's EPG rendering. Settings → Appearance → reduce "EPG Visible Channels" from 6 to 4. Or upgrade to Firestick 4K Max.
Channel logos missing
Settings → Channels → "Update Logos" → wait for sync. If still missing, the provider isn't serving logo URLs in their playlist. Our infrastructure includes channel logos for all major US networks.
Picture-in-Picture not working
Requires Android 8+ and a TiviMate Premium licence. If both conditions are met, enable: Settings → Playback → Picture-in-Picture. Some Smart TVs (TCL, Hisense Google TV) have buggy PIP support — works on NVIDIA Shield, Sony Bravia, and Firestick reliably.
TiviMate FAQ
Is TiviMate Premium worth $20/year?
If you watch live TV (vs only on-demand), yes — catch-up TV alone is worth it. If you mostly watch movies and series, stick with the free version of TiviMate or use Smarters Pro. Our 6+ month plans include the licence free, so the question is moot for our annual subscribers.
Can I install TiviMate on multiple devices with one licence?
TiviMate Premium licences are tied to your Google account, not the device. Sign in with the same Google account on multiple Android TVs and the licence works on all of them.
Does TiviMate work on iPhone or iPad?
No. TiviMate is Android-only and there's no iOS plan. For iPhone/iPad use Smarters Player Lite instead — it's the iOS equivalent.
Will TiviMate Premium auto-renew?
If you bought it directly from TiviMate via Google Play, yes — it auto-renews unless you cancel in your Google Play subscriptions. The licence we provide on our 6+ month plans is one-shot; we issue a fresh licence each renewal.
TiviMate vs Smarters Pro — which is faster?
TiviMate, by a noticeable margin. Channel-switch speed, EPG render speed, and search are all faster on TiviMate. The difference is most apparent on lower-spec devices like Firestick Lite.
